Why does the message “You are active elsewhere” appear when using Tipico Sports?

According to the German State Treaty on Gambling, you are not allowed to be active with multiple providers at the same time. This rule is enforced by the central system LUGAS, which detects whether you are currently logged in with a gambling provider and prevents parallel activities.

When you place a selection in your bet slip, our system automatically registers you as active with LUGAS.

During this time, you cannot be active with another provider.

What happens if you were logged in elsewhere before?

An automatic 5-minute waiting period (cool-down phase) will start. Only after this time can you continue betting with Tipico.

Important:

  • This 5-minute waiting period is legally required and cannot be shortened or removed.
  • If you switch providers again during this time, the waiting period will restart.
  • Once you log out, LUGAS will mark you as inactive.

What should you do if this message appears and you don’t know where you’re still logged in?

Log out completely from all devices and all providers before trying again.
Only when you are fully logged out everywhere will LUGAS recognize you as inactive and allow the waiting period to run correctly.

In short: The waiting period ensures compliance with legal requirements and player protection. It is fixed and cannot be bypassed.
