Which betting markets are allowed in Germany?

As a licensed operator, Tipico is subject to the legal requirements of the German Interstate Treaty on Gambling (GlüStV). These regulations determine which betting markets we are permitted to offer, both pre-match and live.

Permitted Betting Markets

Below are some of the betting markets that are permitted in Germany and available at Tipico:

  • Match Winner (1X2)
  • Over/Under Bets
  • Handicap Bets
  • Half-Time/Full-Time
  • Correct Score
  • Accumulator Bets
  • Outright Bets (e.g. Championship Winner)
  • Many live markets, including Tie-Break Betting in Tennis

Please note: The full list of permitted markets is extensive. Availability always depends on the specific event and the applicable regulatory requirements.

Restricted Betting Markets (Legally Prohibited)
Event-Related Bets with Increased Manipulation Risk

The following betting types are considered particularly susceptible to match-fixing and are therefore prohibited:

  • Yellow/Red Cards
  • Corners
  • Penalties
Live Bets on Certain Sub-Events

Some micro-markets are not permitted under current regulations:

  • Points or games in Tennis or Volleyball
    (Tie-breaks are excluded from this restriction and may be offered live.)
  • Goalscorer Bets during a match

  • MMA and UFC
  • eSports
  • National-Level Table Tennis
